Here is a pop quiz for you.
What do you see in the following picture?
A pen with a broken cap? Congrats! You’re part of 83% of the population that only focus on the bad things that happen in their lives.
Conversely, if you saw a branded pen that can write well, I send my deepest respects to you.
The world is not the way we see it, in fact, we see the world, by how we are from the inside.
There is no such thing as good or bad, only our perspective, the way we see it makes it so.
We are growing in an age, where technology is killing our conscious. Where we are more worried about what people will think on the other side of the globe, about the dinner we had the other night. About how will people respond to our new job title?
Sure, these matristic things will make you happy to an extent. But after that, you’ll feel frustrated & try to connect with your soul.
Yes, the soul, that is gifted by Allah Subhan Wa tala & the only thing that can make our soul peaceful is Zikr of Allah.
Our souls are not from this dimension. And that is why we as humans don’t seem to get fully satisfied with whatever we do.
We create short-term and long-term goals. We create personal and professional goals. But in doing that, what we forget, is to cleanse our soul for the world hereafter.
Coming back to the above example. There are two sides of everything. The good, and the bad. It doesn’t matter what happens to you, but what matters is, how you respond to that.
I know. Sometimes, it gets difficult to see grace under pressure. But then we need to remember this verse from Quran.
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.” [14:7]
Living in the favorable and unfavorable situation is called part of living. But, smiling in all those situations is called Art of living.
Take risks. Be bold. Be audacious about your goals. But ensure that you stay positive at all times.
Life is short. If you do not take charge of your thoughts, soon enough, the devil will take over your thoughts and suck all the positivity from you.
Hope comes from Allah, while vagary comes from the devil.
If you’re not trained this way, make sure you start from today.
Keep a journal with you at all the times and note down all the positive that happens throughout the day. Do that. And your life is never the same again.
